General Job Description:
This position is responsible for being the contact out on the production floor along with knowing what each department is doing at any given time.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work is being done in a safe manner by following safety policies and procedures.
- Know and understand production work flow at all times.
- Ensure the production work schedule is current and being followed.
- Ensure that paperwork, materials, and appropriate personnel are available daily to maintain production schedule.
- Coordinate production activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of equipment (including overtime and weekend work). Communicate appropriately at daily meetings.
- Conduct all performance reviews for hourly employees on specified shift.
- Audit, review and reconcile production paperwork as needed.
- Monitor, correct, and update ADP time clock for payroll processing.
- Review and update SOP’s in conjunction with departmental operators on a yearly basis.
- Review and respond to all ISO internal/external audit findings in a timely manner.
- Prepare for monthly Production meeting and report on issues or ship dates as necessary.
- Control and revise all necessary department forms in given area.
- Active participation in all types of meetings.
- Must be able to take over in any production department when personnel are away on vacation or illness.
- Inform Operations Manager of any personnel issues that arise with appropriate documentation.
- Find root causes to Production defective and rejected materials.
- Ensure all products: Raw materials, WIP items, Finished Goods are identified correctly.
- Work with Quality and Technology & Development to fix production issues that can’t be remedied by Production Management alone.
- Participate in the Company CIP Program.
- Participate in the Company ISO9001 Quality Management System.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good interpersonal communication, customer service, and time management skills essential.
- Ability to read, write and understand English required.
- Must demonstrate general math and understand and compute algebraic math formulas using analytical skills and various computer applications.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and various applications (MS Office) for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and etceteras.
- Physical ability to hear, to see, to smell, to communicate, to engage in repetitive motion of hands and wrists, some lateral movement of body,
- some bending, twisting and climbing stairs, standing/walking 90% and sitting 10% of the working day.
- 25-75% of the time lifting approximately 5-20 pounds in order to safely transport material and equipment, less than 15% of the time may be required to handle items up to 85 pounds with assistance.
- High school diploma required.
- College degree/some college recommended.
- Minimum five years manufacturing experience in a Leadership role.
- Formal education in industry related area desirable but not required.
